Olivier Bonnaud, born in 1950 in France, student at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Paris-Saclay and doctor in microelectronics, he became in 1984 full professor in this field at the University of Rennes 1 and Supelec ("Grande Ecole”), where he created a research laboratory in Microelectronics which he runs until 2013, and several masters and doctoral courses. In this context, he has supervised 43 PhDs, published or presented more than 580 papers and 7 books. Founder in 1985 of a regional interuniversity microelectronics common center (CCMO), he was its director until 2010, when he was appointed by the French Minister of Higher Education as executive director of the "National Coordination for Education in Microelectronics and Nanotechnologies", a network of 12 French interuniversity training centers which host about 17,000 students per year for practical training on technological platforms. President of scientific associations and of the National University Council, evaluator for several research and higher education agencies, since 2013, he has been an emeritus professor and as part of his many international cooperations, selected for the “1000 talents” program by the Chinese government. Since then, he is visiting professor at the Southeast University in Nanjing.
